No experience is needed. Our guided eco-tours are beginner-friendly and welcome all skill levels. Your ACA Certified guide gives you the basics before you launch and stays with the group the whole way. The minimum paddler weight is 30 lbs.
Everything you need on the water — kayak, paddle, and a Coast Guard–approved life jacket (PFD), plus your guide. Just bring yourself and a sense of adventure.
Wear quick-dry clothing and secure footwear like water sandals or old sneakers, and dress for the weather knowing you may get a little wet. Bring sun protection (hat, sunglasses, reef-safe sunscreen), drinking water, and a dry change of clothes for afterward.
Most guided tours run about 2 to 3 hours on the water, including the launch briefing and time to take in the wildlife along the way.
Tours are kept small for a personal experience — a maximum of 6 kayaks or 8 people (with tandem kayaks) per tour.
Tours explore Maryland's Eastern Shore and are easily accessible from Ocean City, Berlin, Snow Hill, Ocean Pines, and Bishopville, MD, as well as Fenwick Island and Selbyville, DE. Launch locations include Newport Bay, the Pocomoke River, the St. Martin River, and the waters around Assateague Island.
